What are the CPLEE pass rates right now?

The Board publishes overall and first-time pass rates, but we never see the pass rate for people retaking the exam. Subtracting first-timers from the Board's own totals reveals the pass rates for multiple/repeat test-takers. This data is important to know in order to address the needs of multiple test-takers and validate their experiences.

The dashed line marks the all-time average, so each year's position above or below the historical norm is visible at a glance. First-time and repeat-taker breakdowns begin in 2009, when the Board started publishing first-timer counts. The most recent year is year-to-date and keeps filling in as the Board reports new months. Read 2008–2015 with care: the CPLEE launched in May 2008 as a limited-use exam sat by only a handful of candidates a month, and did not become the exam every California applicant takes until it replaced the CPSE on July 1, 2015. Percentages from those early years rest on very small numbers.
